TikTok Stories work in the same way that Instagram and Snapchat Stories do. They’ll disappear from your account after 24 hours, leaving users only able to view it during that time.

Users are allowed to comment on other people’s stories, for everyone to see. Unlike Instagram or Snapchat, when you reply to a Story only the user whose story you reply to will be able to see your comment. On TikTok, it will be shown to anyone who might stumble upon the Story.
Although this might not mean much to you if you don’t find yourself commenting on other users’ content, it might be something you want to keep in the back of your mind.
How to Post to TikTok Story
Again, TikTok Stories work almost in the same way that Instagram and Snapchat do, besides the things we already discussed. The process to post your own Story is pretty simple. To get started just follow these steps:
- Open the TikTok app.
- Click on the “+” located at the bottom of your screen in the middle.
- On the bottom of your screen where it says “Camera,” swipe to the left until it says “Story.”
- Record the content that you want to share.
- Edit your video by adding a filter, sticker, or caption, and click “Post to Story.”
Your video will now be on your Story for 24 hours for your friends and whoever else might come across your page to see.
Why don’t I have TikTok Stories?
If you can’t seem to find the “Story” button anywhere, then chances are your phone isn’t updated to the latest version. If even after you update your app you still don’t have the feature, then it’s probably because it isn’t available in your location just yet.
No worries, though. Just because you don’t have the option to post TikTok Stories now doesn’t mean you won’t ever be able to. Continue updating your app and checking back in on it until you see that the feature is now available for you to use.
