While social media apps have their similarities, they also have their differences. Facebook and Twitter allow you to share posts with your friends. On Facebook, you can share on your timeline, to specific friends by tagging, or directly through Messenger. Twitter allows you to re-tweet, re-tweet with a comment, or again, send through direct message. Instagram is different, though. While you can send individual posts or stories to people through direct message, there’s no way to share someone else’s post directly onto your feed. So, you may be asking ‒ how do you repost on Instagram?
Reposting on Instagram is a great way for businesses to share their customers’ experiences or opinions. It also shows you’re listening! If you’re a business on social media, listening to your followers is a major key to success and to grow your followers. Since there is no tool provided by Instagram to share posts to your followers, 3rd party apps have been created to do just that.
An app called Repost (fitting name for the function) was created so you can copy Instagram captions and photos and repost them to your profile. This app is extremely simple to use and probably the best reposting tool out there.
A walk through how to repost on Instagram using Repost:
1. Choose the post you would like to repost
Here we are using an article by Social Buddy – Best Fitness Hashtags for Instagram.
Click the three dots in the top corner of the post.
2. Select ‘Copy Link’
3. Open the Repost app
4. Select the post you just copied, then click ‘Repost’ at the bottom of the screen.
It will bring you to this pop-up. Select ‘Copy Caption.’ If you run multiple Instagram accounts, make sure you’re logged into the correct one before posting!
5. The final step is pasting the caption.
Here you can make additional comments or edit your caption however you may like.
Congratulations! You have just reposted on Instagram. Now, go show your followers some love and repost what they’ve tagged you in! In addition to our tutorial, if you visit the Repost App website you will see a video explaining exactly what we just walked through.
